Life Hits You Hard

Hi all,

I know I haven't posted in a long time and I am sincerely sorry for that. I have spent the last five weeks with my family, caring for my mother through a difficult illness and then, sadly, saying goodbye to her as she passed away on October 9th and left this earth for a better place.

My mother had become one of my best friends, and had always been one of the people I loved the most in the world. The pain and grief over losing her is like a mountain. I'm trying to climb it but seem to keep losing my climbing gear...and my way.

So forgive me if I don't write for a while, at least here. Work does go on, deadlines still tick away on my calendar, so there will be books to do. Writing gives me a place to put all these feelings, to pour it all out on a page and let the words give me strength.

Thank you all for your understanding and for your support (so many people have e-mailed me over this last difficult month). I appreciate it more than you know.

I'll be back soon...I promise.

Shirley

I cannot say anything to make you feel beter at this time, but it will get better...sometime in the next year or maybe two or three, depending on you and your makeup it will start to feel better and you will remember the good times...been there and sending love and hugs......

I'm very sorry for the loss of your mother. I know the pain, been there. Even when you're prepared, you're not. I promise in about a year to year and a half, you can actually look at something of hers and not cry. The smile of the memories will overcome the tears. Myh prayers to you and your family.
