When the power went out.
It kept trying to come back on for a few minutes, with a little burst of light, then back out again, like a car that couldn't start. Then it went out for good and stayed out for four hours.

How many ways can you spell Panic?
Just as I was walking out the door to go to the mall for the dress, the power came back on. Long story short, I finished the book, got it in the mail, got a dress and a present, and made it to the wedding on time (a little breathless, but on time). I have to credit my husband, though, who took the kids and drove the sleepover guests home. That gave me the time I needed to hunt down a dress (and new shoes, of course!)

These are the shoes, not too bad on the comfort level!
So, it's back to work today, on a partial and a page proof before I get to start another book Nov. 1. And look for another excuse to wear those shoes ;-)

Thanks! Now on to the next one, LOL. Not much of a break, but at least I have cool shoes out of it ;-)
