My trip back home to Boston was totally fun. It's funny how I call Boston home, even though I've been gone ten years. And yet, I still call the Midwest home, too. Two homes, one me :-)
My reunion was a complete blast. It was really fun to catch up with old friends, and to make new ones. People I hadn't known well--or at all--in high school suddenly became friends as we found things in common or got past that high school immaturity. I stayed up until three in the morning, laughing and talking and just having an awesome time. And my dress did fit, though I was really happy to go back to eating again the next day ;-)
And, while I was there, my dad and I went to the store to check out Sugar and Spice. Lo and behold, we found it on a front end cap at Target, in the "Bestsellers" section, right up there with the Nora Roberts books. He was so proud, we had to take a picture with him and my book. It's also in the bestseller section at Wal-Mart and in my local Kroger. Friends report it in the bestseller section at Fred Meyer grocery stores, too.
I'm taking all that as a good sign :-)
So, I'm trying not to obsessively check the bestseller lists and actually get some work done. There's still a few hours until the USA Today one comes out, and the NYT list doesn't come out till tomorrow...but my brain is truly not on the book at hand. But I'm trying!
Oh, and there's this AWESOME radio ad that Kensington is running. If I can figure out how to ad an MP3 to my website, I'll put that up today or tomorrow!

Somehow I never would expect to bump into Shirley Jump while strolling through Target. Sort of like seeing Bill Gates shopping for software at Best Buy.
ReplyDeleteLOL. Believe me, I am a mega Target shopper. And Wal-Mart and basically anyplace I can go and get a bargain and Hershey bar at the same time ;-)

You don't want to see my big serious senior pic, Andie! You'd never even believe it was me. I look even older, I think!

Glad you enjoyed your reunion, and greta pic of your dad!
ReplyDeleteCongrats also on being a USA Today best selling author!
