A Dear Friend is Gone...

My dear friend, an amazing author, Suzanne Simmons/Elizabeth Guest, died last night. My heart is broken, and I can't even find words to express the sorrow I feel.

She was one of those people who always had the perfect words of wisdom, the right blend of optimism and spark, and could light up my day with a simple phone call. She guided me in the early days of my career, and became a close friend over the years. Ironically, my November release, Snowbound Bride (in the anthology Christmas Weddings), is dedicated to her and another friend, Janet Dean. The three of us had many traveling adventures ;-) that I will always fondly remember.

If you knew her or read her books, stop by the memorial blog on Running with Quills. Either way, take a moment and give those you love an extra hug today.

  2. I am so sorry for your loss. I expect the death of a close friend entails a pain all its own, and recently I've wondered about my ability to bear it. I pray you will find the strength.
