Quick Shrimp Dip

Today, I got to be a bit of a diva. I was the hour-long guest on a radio show (when I get a copy of the show, I'll post some on my website). It was a lot of fun, especially since it was in studio. Most of the time when I do radio shows, I'm at home in my slippers and on the phone with the host. Actually being in the studio, something I haven't done in about a year, was a blast.

Then I got back to normal life. Running around town looking for something called "Fogger Juice." Yesterday the kids and I bought a fog machine for DD's Halloween party, but the store neglected to tell us we'd need Fogger Juice to go with it (you'd think they'd put up a sign or something). I didn't feel like making the trek back to the original store, so I went to Target. They sold fog machines and no Fogger Juice. How dumb is that? I did find some really cool cups on clearance, though, and sunglasses to replace the ones that got broken, on clearance for a dollar. You can't beat that, so I bought two pairs. I wear sunglasses pretty much 24 hours a day when I step outside, because of my migraines, so having three pairs (I had one backup pair) is a must.

I went to Meijer after Target and found one of the last bottles of Fogger Juice, thankfully marked way down. Kids and I will try it out tonight. Then I bought the ingredients for a simple shrimp dip because I need to bring a dish to a party that we're going to after we go to a wedding tonight. Yeah, feeling like quite the social butterfly ;-)

Simple Shrimp Dip

1 can small shrimp, drained
1/2 bottle cocktail sauce
1 8 ounce package cream cheese, softened
Ritz Crackers

Spread the cream cheese on the bottom of a pie plate. Layer the cocktail sauce on top and then the baby shrimp. Chill until set, at least an hour. Serve with Ritz Crackers.

I bought the new Ritz Chips crackers, because they aren't as fattening, but also got some regular crackers. Quick, easy, everyone's happy. I might put some regular shrimp around the edges of the dip, too, for dipping since Meijer had them on sale. Easy-peasy appetizer.

  1. that dip sounds yummy! I have several holiday parties to go to and this would be a great thing to take. And since I can get shrimp all day every day fresh, easy to prepare! Of course, I love the baby shrimp, too.

  2. Shirley, You did a fantastic job on the radio! Wish I could have heard the entire hour, but we lost the signal as we traveled south to the IU/Penn State football game. Lost that, too. :-(
