Staying the Course...

Okay, so my best intentions always disappear I have great intentions to blog regularly, to stick to my diet, to try out the new Billy Blanks Tae-Bo DVD I bought and to work more.

I've done the last one the best, LOL, but only because I have two books due in one month and need to work as much as I possibly can, as often as I possibly can.

As for the diet, well, I'm down 3.2 pounds (gotta love a scale that measures in tenths because you can see every little bit disappear). Then I bought donuts for the kids...who left me with eight this morning. They are calling my name, I swear. I'm going to have to have a big lunch, just to avoid them :-)

Billy Blanks has yet to see the light of day in my house, but next week, I hope, after I conquer this four-days and counting migraine and feel like I can do more than have a pity fest on the sofa

As for the writing, it's going well. I have 90% of the first book done, 12% of the second book (the second one is due at the end of the month). After the first one is done, I'll jump all over that second one.

Oh, and if any of you do low-carb, try Mamma's Wedding Soup from THE DEVIL SERVED TORTELLINI (I was really excited to see a new five-star review on Amazon for it!). Take the time to make from-scratch chicken broth; it makes a HUGE difference. I had it yesterday and today. Yummy :-)

Here's the recipe for those who haven't read the book yet:

Mamma Pagliano’s “My-Daughter-is-Never Going-to-Get-Married” Italian Wedding Soup

1/2 pound ground beef
1/2 pound ground veal
1/4 cup seasoned bread crumbs, sprinkled with hope
1 egg, from a fertile chicken
1 tablespoon parsley
4 cups chicken broth, made by a married mother who cares
2 cups spinach leaves, ripped into pieces like your no-grandchildren-yet heart
1/4 cup grated Romano cheese
Salt and pepper to taste

Combine the ground meat, bread crumbs, egg, parsley, salt and pepper in a bowl. Mix with love, all the while begging the Lord to bring a man into your daughter’s life, and soon. Form into tiny meatballs, then bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees. Bless the stove with the sign of the cross, then bring the broth to a boil and add the spinach. Cover and boil for five minutes, muttering a prayer for a happy marriage with enough steam to bring lots of grandchildren into the world. Add the cooked meatballs, dropping each one in with a whispered mantra for upcoming nuptials.
Stir in the cheese and serve to a good Italian boy who has marriage on his mind.

While you're at Amazon, check out the bad review on BRIDE. I had to laugh, and I mean really laugh, that someone said it was a good erotic book but a tired story line. Uh...it's not erotic at all, maybe a bit sexy, but I would never put the label erotic on the book. I read the other reviews of this Lolo and it appears she doesn't like anything she reads, or only posts negative and mean reviews. Guess she won't be interested in the wedding soup ;-)

Then, in one of those good news/bad news days, I got large print hardcover editions of KISSED BY CAT in my mail today (and if you look at the cover, that is my cat Tina, to a T...how ironic!), and found out THE MARINE'S KISS is coming out the same way, too. Very cool.

Anyway, back to work. Donuts...hush!

I read the "bad" review on Amazon. That person leaves bad reviews for everyone. At least you got 3 stars out of her! That must be something with a person who has nothing nice to say about anybody (and can't spell either).
